Grace E. (Ziegenfuss) Ackerman, age 87, of Hellertown PA, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at her residence. She is the wife of the late Russell F. Ackerman (September 10, 2005).

Born in Fountain Hill PA (March 18, 1919), she is the daughter of the late James O. and Elizabeth M. (Moyer) Ziegenfuss. Grace was a Waitress at the American Legion Post and the Dewey Fire Co., both of Hellertown, for many years. She was a Member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem PA. She was also a Member of the Civil Defense Police, Hellertown PA and the Silver Creek Country Club, Springtown PA.

Grace loved animals and was a Member of many of its organizations. Grace loved her family, especially swimming with her grandchildren, gardening, feeding the birds, piano, music and dancing.

She is survived by her Sons, Jan J. Ackerman and his wife Diane L. of Hellertown PA and Rickey R. Ackerman and his wife Carole L. of Bethlehem PA; 4 Grandchildren, Darren J., Heather E., Steven W. and Gwenn L.; and 2 Great Grandsons, Jacob A. and Jared S. She is predeceased in death by her Brother, William J. and Sister, Pearl.

Family and Friends are invited to call 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2006 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown. Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home. Interment will conclude services at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
