James G. Hamlet, age 82, of New Tripoli PA, formerly of Philadelphia PA, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000 in his home. He was the husband of Florence M. (Holden) Hamlet. The couple celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary last Sept. 18th. Born January 26, 1918 in Philadelphia PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Fanny (Kelly) Hamlet. He was a Sales Clerk - Acme Markets in Philadelphia for 44 years before retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, Orefield PA. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II with a rank of Technician 4th Grade and Past Commander of V.F.W. Post #251, Philadelphia PA. He is survived by his Wife, Florence M. (Holden) Hamlet of New Tripoli PA; Step Sons, Wayne E. Hoke of New Tripoli PA, Jack A. Hoke of Atlantic City NJ and Mark H. Hoke of Glenolden PA; Step Daughters, Ruth Anne, wife of Carl Givigilana of Philadelphia PA and Jill A., wife of Chester Lykins of New Port NC; Sister, Frances Adams of Wilmington DE; 7 Step Grandchildren and 5 Step Great Grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2000 in the St. Richard’s Catholic Church, 3010 South 18th Street, Philadelphia PA. Calling Hour 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Friday in the church. Interment in Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Delaware County PA The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.
