John Hafner, age 77, of Orefield PA, died Friday, December 26, 2003 in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown PA. He was the Husband of Marian T. (Danouski) Hafner. The couple celebrated their 21st Wedding Anniversary last December. Born in Glassing, Austria, he was the son of the late Alois and Pauline (Stranzl) Hafner. He was a Supervisor and Men's Clothier for the former Cross Country Clothes in Northampton PA and Egypt PA for 50 years, retiring in 1990. He was a Member of the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield PA. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War with a rank of Corporal. He was a former Lecture and former President of the Holy Name Society, Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church, Northampton PA. He was also former Vice-President and Shop Steward for the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union Local 469. He is survived by his Wife; Sons, James Hafner of Northampton PA and Joseph Hafner of Frederick MD; Sister, Teresa Rosencranz of Northampton PA; 4 Grandchildren; Step Daughters, Marian T. Schneck of Allentown PA and Bernice K. Scharadin of Emmaus PA; Step Son, Bernard T. Volak of Florida; and 3 Step Grandchildren; Funeral Services will be held 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2003 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville PA, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of a Christian Burial in St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield PA. Family and Friends may Call: 8:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Funeral Home. The Reverend Ronald Minner, Celebrant. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville PA.
