George M. Haas, age 90, of Allentown PA, died Thursday, August 29, 2002, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown PA. He was the Widower of the late Helen A. (Bernd) Haas.

Born in Trexlertown PA, he was the son of the late Milton G. and Minnie A. (Buchman) Haas. He was a Delivery Agent for the former Railway Express Co., in Allentown, for 37 years, retiring in 1974. Prior to that he worked as a Farmer on their family farm in Orefield, South Whitehall Township, for many years. He was a Member of Dubbs Memorial United Church of Christ, Allentown PA where he sang on the choir for over 50 years. He was a former Choir Member at Jordan U.C.C. in Orefield and St. John's U.C.C. in Fogelsville.

He is survived by his Daughters, Joan D., wife of Kenneth D. Steward of Allentown PA and Elaine M., wife of Richard W. Bergstein of Allentown PA; 4 Grandchildren, Karen J. Schopf, Kenneth R. Steward, David A. Bergstein and Daniel A. Bergstein; and 6 Great Grandchildren, Ryan K. Steward, Casey E. Steward, Kiley C. Steward, Conor R. Steward, Lauren K. Schopf and William K. Schopf.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2002 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville PA. Family and Friends may Call 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Funeral Home. The Reverend Dr. David C. Brown and the Reverend William Thomas officiating. Interment in Trinity Great Swamp U.C.C. Cemetery, Spinnerstown PA.
