Alta I. (Slaughter) Baldwin, age 89, of New Tripoli PA, died Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township PA. She was the wife of Robert L. Baldwin. The couple celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary last August 31.

Born in Tappen ND, August 31, 1918, Alta was the daughter of the late Clyde and Ida (Haadem) Slaughter. She was employed in the Food Service Department of K-Mart, Tilghman Street, Allentown PA, for 13 years before retiring. Alta was a member of Hope Community Church in Fogelsville PA; and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter # 458, Slatington PA.

She is survived by her Husband; Daughter, Annemarie Baldwin of Tamaqua PA; Brothers, Curtis Slaughter, Delane Slaughter and Harold Slaughter, all of North Dakota; Sisters, Areda Owens of New York and Ivy J. Knight of New Tripoli PA; Grandchildren, Kristina M. Weiner of Palmerton PA, Kerry L. Baldwin of New Tripoli PA and Kimberly A. Trimmer of Tamaqua PA; and Great Grandchildren, Jeffrey, Ashley and Jonathon.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 am. Friday, December 21, 2007 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Rout 309, Schnecksville PA, with the Reverend Robert M. Danecker, Sr. officiating. Family and Friends may call 9:30 - 10:30 am. Friday, in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown PA.
