Curtis R. “Curt” Garner, age 74, of Whitehall PA, died Sunday, January 20, 2008 at Cedarbrook, Allentown PA. He was the husband of Doris E. (Frantz) Muschlitz Garner. The couple celebrated their 38th Wedding Anniversary last September 5, 2007.

Born in Lancaster PA, February 10, 1933, Curt was the son of the late Richard C. and Lena B. (Cole) Garner. He was the President of the former Garner & Garner Associates, Inc. in Allentown PA for 17 years before retiring. Prior to that, he was the Vice-President of Sales & Marketing at the former Rodale Mfg. Co. in Emmaus for 10 years and was a Salesman for the former Allen Electric in Allentown for 9 years. Curt was a Past President of Sales & Marketing Executives (Allentown - Bethlehem) and Past Area Director for Sales & Marketing Executives International where he declined the Office of President due to his long-term illness of Parkinson's disease. He also was a member of the Lehigh Valley Electrical Association, the Delaware Valley Electrical Association and the National Electrical Manufactures Representatives Association.

Curt faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Hee was a member of Faith Alive United Methodist Church in Bowmanstown PA. Curt was also a former board member of the Lehigh Valley Kidney Foundation and a member of the Pi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. He also was the manager of Rodale's softball teams and previously was a Coach of the Salvation Army's basketball team.

He is survived by his Wife; Sons, Richard H. Garner of Catasauqua PA and Barry D. Garner of Whitehall PA; Daughters, Barbara A. Mertl of Allentown PA and Colleen A. Ecker of Wescosville PA; Step Daughter, Judith A. “Judy” Muschlitz of Corinth TX; Brothers, the Reverend Lester Garner of Lansdale PA and Wendell Garner of Connecticut; Sister, Doris Chruney of Reading PA; 14 Grandchildren; and Great Grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville PA with the Reverend John D. Inghram officiating. Visitation period 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs PA.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Parkinson Disease Foundation, Inc., c/o the Funeral Home, PO Box 196, Schnecksville PA 18078-0196.
