Charles C. Tielmann, 81, of Upper Macungie Township, passed on to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 20, 2008 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Warke) Tielmann. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last September 14.

Born in Allentown on December 27, 1926, Charles was the son of the late Leonard C. and Esther F. (Gressens) Tielmann. He faithfully and honorably served his county in the U.S. Army during World War II.. He was a graduate of Penn State University, Class of 1961. Charles was employed as an engineer at the former Alpo Pet Foods, South Whitehall Township for 21 years before retiring in 1989. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown; a member of the Vernon G. Kern V.F.W. Post # 8344, Schnecksville, American Legion Post # 739, Hokendauqua and Jordan-Porter Lodge # 673, F.& A.M., Allentown. Charles enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels, the Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank and Second Harvest.

Survivors: Wife; son, Donald G. Murphy and his wife Debra of Hummelstown; daughter, Donna M. Henry and her husband Jay of Schnecksville; five grandchildren, Marc and Christina Murphy, Jason, Matt & Erik Henry.

Services: Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008 in the Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, 3231 Tilghman Street, Allentown, with the Rev. Stephen T. Emick, officiating. No calling hours. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.
