Dale G. Baer, 76, of Schnecksville, died Saturday, August 2, 2008 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Leona E. (Dalrymple) Baer. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last November 29.

Born in Slatington on March 4, 1932, Dale was the son of the late Arlington A. and Catherine E. (Jones) Baer. He was employed as a licensed barber, with his father, Arlington at the former Baer's Barber Shop in Schnecksville for 47 years before retiring in 1997. In addition to barbering, he was a teller at the former Schnecksville - Egypt Bank and was a self-employed tax preparer. He was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, where he formerly served on the consistory. Dale was the former Secretary and Treasurer of North Whitehall Township Municipality for 12 years.

Survivors: Wife; sons, Tim D. Baer and his wife Marlene of Breinigsville and Scott D. Baer and his wife Brenda of Schnecksville; four grandchildren, Jayson, Nathan, Missy and Nicole; great grandson, JJ; predeceased by a sister, Doris J. Kuntz.

Services: Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2008 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Thomas N. Thomas officiating. Family and friends may call 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
