Evelyn L. (German) Hamilton, 83, residing at Fellowship Terrace, Whitehall, formerly of Helen Street, Allentown, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in her home. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Hamilton.

Born in Neffs, on January 21, 1925, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Wilmer and Estella F. (Diebert) German. After graduating from the former Allentown Hospital School of Nursing in 1946, she was employed as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill and the former Allentown General Hospital for a combined total of 34 years before retiring in 1982. She was a former volunteer of the Department of Health Baby Clinic; a former Judge of Elections, South Whitehall Township, District 7; a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter # 458, Slatington; Evelyn was a member of the Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville.

Survivors: Children, Judy A. Hesketh of Allentown, Duane S. Hamilton and his wife Elaine of Lenhartsville, Cindy L. Sampier of Littleton, Colorado; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; predeceased by brothers, Floyd and Harold German.

Services: Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2008 at Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5500 Route 873, Schnecksville with the Rev. Dennis W. Moore and the Rev. Jami L. Possinger officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Monday in the church. Interment will take place 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.
