Michael G. Kasick, 61, of Lower Macungie Twp. died Friday, November 28, 2008 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He is the husband of Carol S. (Knauss) Kasick.

Born in Allentown on July 13, 1947, he is the son of Mary E. (Lazo) Yeakel of Allentown and the late Michael Kasick. Michael worked at Buckeye Pipeline, Breinigsville as a electrical draftsman for 35 years. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam War in the US Air Force; was a active member of The Episcopal Church of the Mediator, Allentown where he was a lay reader and served on its vestry; Past President (twice) Kiwanis Club, Emmaus; Peter Post 576, Allentown.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 27 years; mother; sisters: Martha E. wife of Carl H. Bashaw of Allentown, Melanie A. Clark of Arlington TX; nephew: Jason M. Bashaw of North Catasaqua, niece: Nicole J. Beidler of Frederick, MD.

Services: Family and friends are invited to call 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street - Hellertown and 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. The service will be at 10:00 a.m.Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the church. The interment with Military Honors will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Church, 1620 W. Turner St. Allentown, PA 18102.

I had the pleasure of sharing the company of Mike and other members of his family while they were in Europe during 1976 or 1977 - I came across this obituary accidentally and was shocked to hear of his early passing RIP and thanks for the good times
