Calvin C. 'Jack' Gaither, 80, of Spring Valley, died Monday, December 29, 2008 at VNA Hospice of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Twp. He is the husband of Pearl L. (Schleppy) Gaither.

Born in Lower Saucon Twp. on October 25, 1928, he is the son of the late Calven E. and Linnie M. (Eisenhart) Gaither. Jack worked for Bell Telephone for 36 years and AT&T for 1 year until retirement. After retirement he worked at the Saucon Valley Country Club. He was a member of New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lower Saucon Twp., a member of the Beethoven Waldheim Club and Spring Valley Sportsman's Club, serving as Treasurer for many years.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 58 years; Sons: Jack and his wife Catharine M. (Lueckenbach) of Lower Saucon Twp., Larry J. of Center Valley and Lee N. of Center Valley; Daughter: Donna D. wife of Curtis P. Doll of Coopersburg; Brother: William L. of Quakertown; Sister: Pearl E. Ferry of Coopersburg; Grandchildren: Zachary P. Doll and his wife Amy, Samantha J. wife of Ryan Pudloski, Ethan D. and Hannah C. Gaither; and Great Grandson: Quinn J. Pudloski. Predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Shelly.

Services: Family and friends are invited to call 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the church, followed by the service at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Tricia A. McMackin, Officiating. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. The Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown is in charge of arrangements.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Church, 3233 Apples Church Road, Bethlehem, 18015, and or the Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2166 S 12th St # 101 Allentown, 18103.
