Willard Bachman Hamm, 91, of New Tripoli, died Sunday, March 29, 2009 in his home. He was the husband of the late Myrl L. (Long) Hamm.

Born in Lynn Township, on April 9, 1917, Willard was the son of the late George A. and Lillie M. (Bachman) Hamm. Following in his father's footsteps, Willard became a progressive farmer in many areas including soil conservation, potato growing and dairying in the Lynn Township area.

Active in many farming organizations included serving as Secretary / Treasurer of the Lehigh Co. Potato Growers Association, Secretary / Treasurer of the Lehigh Co. Holstein Club, member of the Lehigh Co. Farm Bureau where he held many positions, Lehigh County Agricultural Extension Advisory Board, Lehigh Valley Dairy Co-Operative Advisory Board, served as an advisor for the Lehigh Co. 4-H Dairy Club and served on the Soil Conservation Committee. He was a member of the Ontelaunee Lions Club and the Lynn / Heidelberg Township Historical Society. He was a member of the St. Peter's Union Church, Lynnville, where he served on the Consistory for over 50 years and also attended The Gospel Chapel in Northampton.

Survivors: Children, The Rev. Kathleen H. Jones at home, Larry G. Hamm and his wife Susan of East Lansing, Michigan, Renee E. Bachman and her husband Larry of New Tripoli; sister, Mildred Fenstermacher of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Brian, Nicholas and Matthew; great grandchildren, Emma and Benjamin; long-time friend, Lillian Kosman of Northampton.

Services: Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2009 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with Pastor Ken Reigard officiating. Family and friends may call 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at St. Peter's Union Cemetery, Lynnville.
