Charles James Pappas, 82 of Clearbrook, Virginia, died Monday, April 27, 2009, in Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Pappas was born in 1926, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, the son of the late James and Rosella Pappas. He was a retired Manager of a retail store. Mr. Pappas was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church in Winchester, the Lehigh German Shepherd Dog Club and the Allentown Dog Training Club in Pennsylvania. Mr. Pappas was a Veteran having served in the United States Army.

His wife, Mary J. Pappas, whom he married on June 18, 1955, in Hellertown, Pennsylvania, preceded him in death on January 16, 2006.

Surviving are his sisters, Helen Seal, Shirley Campbell both of Winchester, Virginia, and Patricia Mauck of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 29th, 2009 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street - Hellertown followed by the service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tricia A. McMackin, Officiating. Interment with military honors will conclude services at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
