Marie I. (Shiffert) Schaffer, 93, formerly of Allentown, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Alvin G. Schaffer.

Born in Ruchsville, North Whitehall Township, on August 11,1915, Marie was the daughter of the late Russell I. and Annie M. (Easterday) Shiffert. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.

Survivors: Daughter, Sandra M. wife of William M. Mason III of Allentown; sister, Dorothy M. Oberholzer of Cetronia; grandson, Randy J. Ross and his wife Carla; granddaughter, Renee J. Ross and her fiancé Eric Henry; step great grandson, Christopher Downing; predeceased by a sister, Lena S. Handwerk.

Services: Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Dr. Elizabeth C. Langensiepen officiating. Family and friends may call 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
