Kenneth C. Parry, 83, of Coopersburg, died Saturday, May 9, 2009 at VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Twp. surrounded by his family. He has joined his loving wife, the late Joan H. (Arnold) Parry, who died Sept. 15, 2004.

Born in Fountain Hill on January 5, 1926, he was the son of the late Thomas John Parry and Elizabeth (Engle) Parry Steiger. He served his country honorably during WWII as a gunner's mate in the US Navy on the USS Bataan. He worked at the Bethlehem Steel Co. retiring as a foreman in Weldment Department after 38 years of service to the company.

Kenneth was a guitarist in the Lehigh Valley area playing with several groups for many years. He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Center Valley; F & A. M. Saucon Lodge, Coopersburg, where he was past worshipful master; Lehigh Consistory, Valley of Allentown; and Rajah Temple, Reading. He was an avid golfer and bowler and had a love for home improvement projects. He was a loving father and grandfather with a passion for his family and friends.

Survivors: Son, Tom J. Parry and his wife, Nancy L., of Hellertown; Daughter, Jill T., wife of Dean V. Gumhold, of Center Valley; Grandchildren, Andrew, Bethany, Christopher and Damaris Parry, and Matthew Gumhold; and 2 "Grand Dogs" - Tessie and Chloe.

Services: Family and friends are invited to call 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street - Hellertown and 10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. at the church, 5992 Route 378, Center Valley. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown with military honors.

The Board of Directors of the Goodfellows Club wishes to extend its deepest sympathy and prayers to Ken's family at this time of loss. Ken's smile and friendship will be missed at our events and he will be honored with a moment of silence at the Club's annual meeting. May his family's memories give them strength and comfort at this difficult time.
