Norma J. (Zundel) Houser, 75, of Slatington, died Thursday, June 11, 2009 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Leonard W. Houser. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last August 17. Born in Allentown, on September 3, 1933, Norma was the daughter of the late John A. and Grace P. (Schneck) Zundel. Norma graduated from the former Slatington High School, Class of 1951 and attended Kutztown University. She was employed as a teacher's aid at St. John's U.C.C. Pre-School in Slatington for 10 years before retiring. She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Slatington where she sang on the church choir for many years. She was a former Girl Scout Leader in Slatington. Norma's greatest interest was the love she had for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandson. Other interests include playing cards, knitting, puzzles, square dancing, camping and wintering in Florida. Survivors: Husband; children, Carol A. Weida and her companion Raymond Ziegler of Treichlers, Leonard W. Houser, Jr. of Bowmanstown, Colleen A. Redline and her husband Kevin of Walnutport, Kathleen J. Mack and her husband Daniel and his sister Donna Mack of Kutztown; sister, Jean E. Chase of East Brunswick, New Jersey; grandchildren, Crystal Weida and her companion Scott Hankee, Jared Houser, Jason Houser, Adam Redline, Jacob Mack and Emily Mack; great grandson, Davyn Hankee; beloved pet Holly. Services: Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. David S. Mohr officiating. Family and friends may call 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
