William D. Stumpf, 94 years, of Sunrise of Allentown, formerly of Neffs, died Monday, June 15, 2009 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Frances P. (Bittner) Stumpf and the late Mildred (Price) Stumpf. He and his wife, Frances, celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary last April 15.

Born in West Hazleton, on June 5, 1915, Bill was the son of the late William D. and Catherine (Smith) Stumpf. He was employed in the meat department of the former Pantry Pride Supermarket in Allentown for 20 years before retiring. Bill was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs. He formerly served with the Neffs Volunteer Fire Co. Fire Police.

Survivors: Wife; daughters, Sandra L. Ackerman and her husband Robert of Allentown, Judith A. Schrader, wife of the late Lynn P. Schrader, of Allentown; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; predeceased by a stepson, R. John Smith, who died in 2000.

Services: A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Sunrise of Allentown, 1263 South Cedar Crest Blvd. Allentown, with the Rev. Thomas N. Thomas officiating. No calling hours. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.
