Leon C. Quier, 84, of Lower Saucon Twp. died Monday, July 13, 2009 at VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Twp. He is the husband of Elizabeth G. "Betty" (Davis) Quier. Born in Hellertown on March 3, 1925 to the late Palmer and Mae I. (Kunsman) Quier. Jim worked in the Cindering Plant of the former Bethlehem Steel for 40 years until retiring in 1987. He served his country honorably during WWII in the US Navy. Jim was a very faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee and Conference Delegate for the United Methodist Church - Eastern PA. He was a avid gardener and enjoyed sharing his produce with others. Survivors: In addition to loving wife of 61 years; Son, David P. and his wife Sandra of Bethlehem Twp.; Daughters, Janet R. wife of Thomas A. Engleman of Lower Saucon Twp., Linnet M. Hill wife of Robert P. McComsey of Lower Saucon Twp and Lori L. wife of Thomas H. Phillippi of Lower Saucon Twp.; Brother, Russell H. Quier and his wife Betty Jane of Kintnersville; Sisters, Ruth M. Fergurson in FL and Dorothy H. Wetherald of Waynesboro; 8 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Services: Family and friends are invited to call 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street, Hellertown followed by the service at 10:00 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
