William A. 'Gabby' Yeakel, 85, of Bethlehem, formerly of Hickory Hill Rd. Lower Saucon Twp., died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. He is the husband of Helen K. (Kuti) Yeakel and the late Dorothy (Bertsch) Yeakel who died in 1966.

Born in Allentown on October 12, 1923 to the late Arthur and Anna Yeakel. William worked at Spirax Sarco Corp., Allentown as a foreman for 38 years until his retirement in 1982. He served his country honorably during WWII in the US Army.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 41 years; Son: Dennis W. Yeakel and his wife Debbie of Bethlehem; Step Children: Evelyn M. Kieser of Macungie, Susan A. wife of John Kennedy of New Tripoli, Robert J. Andrasek and his wife Angeline of Bethlehem, John S. Andrasek and his wife Christine of Red Hill; Brother: Clair Yeakel and his wife Betty of Dillingersville; 9 Grandchildren; 1 Great Granddaughter.

Services: Family and friends are invited to call 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street - Hellertown followed by the service at 10:00 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
