Stella (Smith) Gardner, 91, of Lower Saucon Twp. died Monday, November 16, 2009 at Moravian Village, Bethlehem. She is the wife of the late Howard W. Gardner, Sr.

Born in Riegelsville on February 19, 1918 to the late Frank and Laura (Diltz) Smith. Stella helped on the family farm taking pride in her family and the farm products they raised. She is a member of Lower Saucon United Church of Christ, Hellertown.

Survivors: Children, Anna Mae Gilliard of Bethlehem, Howard W. Gardner, Jr. of Hellertown, Flora A. wife of John T. Cathers, Jr. of Emmaus, Raymond C. Shook and his wife Jean of Nazareth and Thomas E. Huff of Bethlehem; Sister, Margaret Best of Emmaus; 14 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren. She is predeceased by a Son, Gustave Tonn, Jr.

Services: Family and friends are invited to call 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, 326 Main Street - Hellertown and 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Church, 1375 Third Avenue – Hellertown, followed by a service at 10:00 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
