Charles E. Walsh, 89, formerly of Honesdale, died Monday, November 23, 2009 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, South Whitehall Twp. Born in Detroit, MI on March 5, 1920, he is the son of the late of John J. and Ellen R. (Black) Walsh. He married Elizabeth J. Fleming of Carbondale who preceded him in death on July 25, 2009. Charles worked as an Insurance Adjuster for many years until retiring. He served his country honorably during World War II in the Army. He is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church - Allentown. Survivors: Daughters, Joan W. wife of Stephen H. Dunn of Stroudsburg, Eileen wife of John Borkenhagen of Whitehall, Susan wife of Thomas Perry of Alabama and Mary Cunningham of Alabama; Grandchildren, Kevin Dunn, Samantha Dunn, Edward Borkenhagen, Scott Borkenhagen, Kimberly Harris, Amy Cunningham, John Cunningham, Jason Cunningham, Caroline Dipasquale and Joshua Cunningham; Great Grandchildren, John Harris IV, Ashley Harris, Alexandra Cunningham, Aiden Borkenhagen and Parker Borkenhagen. Services: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the church, 825 South 11th Street, Allentown. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at the St. John's Cemetery in Honesdale. |
