Helen (Swedic) Kulchycki, 88, of Schnecksville, formerly of Aliquippa, Beaver County, died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of the late George Kulchycki. Born in Ambridge, on February 19, 1922, Helen was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Dubick) Swedic. While living with her family in the Schnecksville area, she attended Assumption of Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Northampton where she enjoyed helping to make pierogies. She was a life long member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA and it's League. Survivors: Daughter, Karen M. Osmun and her husband James with whom she resided; daughter-in-law, Nancy Kulchycki of New Berlin; granddaughters, Kimberly Kulchycki of California and Dr. Lara Kulchycki of Massachusetts; predeceased by a son, Dennis G. Kulchycki and a sister, Mary VanKirk and her husband Fred. Service: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Assumption of Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1301 Newport Avenue, Northampton Parastas will be held at 7:00 p.m. with The Very Rev. Bazyl Zawierucha officiating. Helen's sacred remains will be taken home to Western Pennsylvania for continued services and interment.
