Charles W. Yost, 80, of Allentown died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Patricia H.I. (Roxberry) Yost. The couple celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary last June 18. Born in Stewartstown, York County, on March 15, 1929, Charles was the son of the late J. Vernon and Emma J. (Hedrick) Yost. He received his Bachelors and Master's Degrees from Lehigh University and worked for Lehigh Portland Cement Co. as a Corporate Geologist from 1952 - 1991. He was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, Allentown. Having a great love for the outdoors and a sense of adventure, Charles loved traveling the United States and to foreign countries, as well as, camping, hunting, fishing and boating. Survivors: Wife; children, Jeffrey C. Yost of Seattle, Washington, Douglas M. Yost and his wife Stacy of San Antonio, Texas, Linda P. wife of Peter J. Sobchak, Jr. of Whitehall; brother, Donald H. Yost of York; sister, Lois Y. Fairchild of Camp Hill; grandchildren, Peter J. Sobchak III, Jacob C. Sobchak, Rebecca L. Sobchak, Morgan M. Yost, Thomas C. Yost; predeceased by a daughter, Karen M. Yost. Service: Funeral services will be held 11:00 am. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Jordan U.C.C., 1837 Church Road, Allentown, with the Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith and Pastor Wally F. Frisch officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Saturday, in the church. Private inurnment at Greenwood Cemetery in Allentown at a later date. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.
