Each and everyone of us who shared in Shirley's life could write a complete novel of the part she played which is why, at this very moment, I hardly know where to begin. Shirley lived her life always putting others before herself. As her little sister, the times she was there for me whether happy or sad are countless. Just recently she told me that she should learn to just say, "No." She couldn't...it wasn't in her vocabulary. Instead, she did whatever was asked of her and she did it well. The years of caring for our dear mother who passed away just three months ago are a testament to the love, kindness, and compassion that were part of her very being. She and Tom had a marriage truly made in heaven and to be with them was a joy never to be forgotten. You could just sense the love they had for one another and somehow you always felt better leaving than when you first set foot in the door. Their home was filled with warmth, comfort, and happiness, not to mention good food! We will grieve for a very long time, yet we must celebrate a life well lived and find comfort in knowing that she is at peace with our Lord and Savior. My dear sister, I love you and I will miss you until we meet again.

Dear Family and Friends of Shirley,
So sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. Please accept our condolences.
There is so much I would like to say... Shirley was a truly wonderful and caring women. I'm not sure when I developed a solid connection to Shirley, but it may have been almost 10 years ago when Rachel fell and I called the Church office and Shirley just happened to be there. Right away she called Jeannie and then gave me some signs to watch for. She'd been so supportive over the health issues for Charles, my parents and in general life with Katrina too. I valued her opinion and often approached her for her words of wisdom on experiences. I am a richer person for having known Shirley. We share your grief. May your memories bring you comfort. If there is anything we can do please let one of us know. Sadly, I won't be able to attend the service, but I will be there in my heart.
Love to all,
Kathy
