Larry H. Haftle, 63, of Allentown, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 in his home.

Born in Allentown, July 11, 1946, Larry was the son of the late Thelma (Kneller) Haftle and George Polscer. He co-owned and operated Canine Creations in Emmaus since 1975. Prior to that, he was employed as a Veterinarian Technician for Dr. F. Murray Iobst in Whitehall and taught elementary school at St. Theresa's School in Hellertown. Larry was of the Catholic Faith. He graduated from Moravian College with a B.S. in Science. He was nominated for Outstanding Teacher of the Year in Pennsylvania. Larry had a great love for animals, an avid gardener and gourmet cook. Larry loved life.

Survivors: Sister, Sharon H. Benner and her husband Calvin of Elizabethtown; business partner, Gary J. Donchess of Allentown; beloved cats, Stubby, Freddie and Mikey

Services: Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Family and friends may pay their respects from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
