Robert C. Emery, 83, of Orefield, died Friday, July 9, 2010 in Bradenton, Florida. He was the husband of the late Elly C.E. (Fest) Emery.

Born in Allentown, April 13, 1927, Robert was the son of the late Clifford and Bessie (Hunsicker) Emery. He was employed as an Electronics Technician for the U.S. Postal Service, Lehigh Valley, for 32 years before retiring in 1989. Prior to that, he worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. for several years. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Robert was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, Allentown. He served as the Treasurer of the local chapter of NARFE.

Survivors: Son, Robert C. Emery, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Bradenton, Florida; daughter, Gisela J. Jochem and her husband, Philip, of Doylestown; siblings, James Emery and his wife Nancy, Bryan Emery and his wife, Darlene, Barbara Gossman and her husband, William, all of Allentown, Marian Schafer and her husband, Raymond, of Arizona, Patricia Young and her husband, Gregory, of Coopersburg; grandsons, Robert and Thomas Emery; predeceased by a brother, Richard Emery and a sister, Marjorie Hersh.

Service: Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith officiating. No calling hours. Interment will follow the service at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
