Maynard J. Peffer, 77, of Lower Saucon Twp. died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at his home. He is the husband of Gladys (Donchez) Peffer. Born in Hellertown on March 27, 1933 to the late Maynard A. and Jessie E. (Bitting) Peffer. Maynard worked for 35 years for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation retiring as an Executive Chauffer and also worked for 9 years for Union Pacific Corporation in the same capacity. He is a member of St. George's Episcopal Church, Hellertown, F. & A.M. Lodge #283, Bethlehem, Past President of the Dewey Fire Company, and Past President of the 4-Couty Fireman's Association in 1972.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 33 years, last December; Sons: Douglas J. Peffer and wife Deborah A. of Bethlehem, David J. Peffer of Hellertown; Siblings: Barbara A. wife of Neil G. Stackhouse of Springfield Twp., Jeannette D. Fields of Ferndale, Graycee S. Mikolajczyk and her companion James A. Clewell of Hellertown; Granddaughter: Jamie Lee Peffer and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Services: Family and friends are invited to call 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street - Hellertown followed by the service at 4 p.m. Private interment at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Masonic Service at 3:00 p.m. Sunday.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. George's Episcopal Church, 735 Delaware Avenue, Hellertown, PA 18055.
