I knew JJ when he was Jim Lloyd at WIP and I worked at WMMR. Then we both ended up working at WCAU-TV. Through his illness, JJ still came to work and was always upbeat and positive. He enjoyed a good debate and was always a perfectionist in his work. He was also very proud of his family. My heartfelt sympathies to you all.

Chadd had told me that Jim said I should stop in and see him sometime when I was in Helertown. I stopped in on September 25th when I was to do a concert in the park but did not find anyone at home. I did not know he was ill and really surprised when Chadd informed me that he had passed away. He was a great neighbor and friend. My sympathy goes out to the entire family. Unfortunately I cannot attend his service as I will be out of town.

I will never forget having J.J. as a Sunday School teacher when I was in Elementary School. He was great with our whole class. One day, I was watching TV, and I saw him on a commercial. I quickly got my parents, and yelled, "THAT'S MY SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER!!!!" My dad did't believe me and I made him come to meet J.J. the next week... :) I was so proud of him!

Your family will be in my prayers during this difficult time.

A servant gone home

Ron & PAt Fradeneck    08-02-2010

Dear Lois and family.

We attended the service for JJ but did not get to see you personally due to the many mourners who surrounded you.

JJ was a servant and witness for the Lord in every aspect of the word. He's where we all want to go.

May God bless you as you move forward from this time of loss.

Family and friends will miss JJ as a kind and loving person, friend and supporter. The Phillies and Steelers have lost a loyal fan. God has lost one of his greatest spreaders of his word on this earth, but now has the greatest debater of all time on his side in Heaven. I feel privileged to have known Joe as a good friend and am I so glad that he called me to his side at the end where even in his weakened condition that night he was still offering his support and help to me with a long and sincere prayer.. I truly know that he is at peace. Love you Lois, Joe and family.

BARRY & MARY DIMA    08-08-2010

I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I first met him when I was a 12 year old intern at WAEB in Allentown. Jim was the guy who gave me the very first chance to talk on the air. I will never forget that moment and the time he spent with me teaching me the little tricks of the trade. I truly believe I am where I am today, all because such a kind man saw something in me that I didn't. My best wishes to the entire family. And THANK YOU JIM!

Gary Fortun    01-05-2011

I used to work with Jim at WEEX back in the 70s. He was a good conversationalist and fun to be with. Our families got together frequently back then and we became good friends. I am sure that he will be missed.
