Mary B. (Betz) Klaum, 91, of Springtown, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Phoebe-Richland Health Care, Richlandtown. She is the beloved wife of the late George H. Klaum, Jr. (died Oct. 24, 2002). Born in Brooklyn, NY on October 25, 1918 to Katherine A. (Winkler) and Alex Betz. Mary was of the Catholic Faith. She graduated from High School and attended Evans Beauty Academy of Cosmetics and Beauty Culture in Jamaica, NY. Living with her late husband in West Hempstead, NY, she was a past secretary of the West Hempstead, NY Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She and her late husband moved to Pleasant Valley in 1942 and owned and operated a Dairy Farm until 1959. Later she and her husband moved to Springtown on a small farm. She was a custodian in the Palisades High School, Kintnersville. Survivors: She is a beloved and devoted mother to Kenneth C. Klaum of Springtown, Barbara M. wife of Robert Hegedus of Harrisburg, Katherine Fox Haney wife of Russell Haney of Lower Nazareth Twp.; and is the grandmother of 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandson. Predeceased by a son: George H. Klaum, III (died June 24, 1975). Services: Family and friends are invited to call 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street - Hellertown, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, 1408 Easton Road - Hellertown.
