Arthur J. Heleva, 72, of Coplay, died Monday, August 2, 2010 in his home. He was the husband of Dolores M. (Novak) Heleva. The couple celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary July 3.

Born in Treichlers, January 28, 1938, Art was the son of the late Stephen D. and Lois M. (Kleppinger) Heleva. He along with his father operated the Heleva Landfill for 20 years. He was employed as a machinery salesman for Action Machinery and East Penn Machinery. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during a peacetime era.

He was a member of Egypt Community Church, Whitehall where he formerly served as President of the Consistory for multiple terms. Art was a member of Slatington Lodge # 440, F. & A.M. and a 32 Degree Mason, where he was a member of the Lehigh Consistory, Valley of Allentown and the Rajah Shrine, Reading. Art will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

Survivors: Wife; children, Daniel A. Heleva of Erie, Deneice A. Knauss and her husband Lee of Bowie, Maryland, Scott A. Heleva and his wife Valerie of Coplay, Todd J. Heleva of Northampton; sisters, Mary A. Klugh and her husband Paul of Endicott, New York; Patricia A. Entwhistle and her husband Robert of West Grove; grandchildren, Kiera D. Heleva, Jesse D. Heleva, Brooke L. Knauss, Heather A. Knauss, Hailey C. Heleva.

Service: Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Larry E. Pickar, Sr. officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Grandview Cemetery, Allentown.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Egypt Community Church c/o the funeral home, P.O. Box # 196, Schnecksville, PA 18078-0196.
