Margaret M. (Gimbel) Schoch, 82, of Slatington, formerly of Ironton, died Sunday, August 8, 2010 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of Harold G. Schoch. The couple observed their 63rd wedding anniversary last January 11.

Born in North Whitehall Township, June 15, 1928, Margaret was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Urban) Gimbel. She was employed in the custodial department of the Schnecksville Elementary School for many years before retiring. Prior to that, she worked as a sewing machine operator for the former Cross Country Clothes in Egypt for several years. Margaret was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Laurys Station. She also volunteered her time at the Community Fire Company #1, Schnecksville.

Survivors: In addition to her husband, Harold; daughter, Eileen Young and her husband, Wayne, of Lower Nazareth Township; sons, Ralph D. Schoch and his wife, Cathy, of Slatington, Harold G. “Butch” Schoch, Jr. and his wife, Terry, of Ironton; sister, Helen Dreisbach of Whitehall; grandchildren, Kevin Young, Danielle Young and Nicole Schoch; great grandchildren, Jaycee, Tanner, Cale, Jaxon and Ty.

Service: Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 12, 2010 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Dr. James T. Gottwald officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The interment will follow the service at St. John's U.C.C. Cemetery, Laurys Station.
