Fachet, Francis Phillip

Francis ‘Frank’ Phillip Fachet of Springfield Township passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday evening, August 28th. He was 93. Up until his death he lived in the Stony Garden home he built with his father 66 years ago.

Born Dec. 31, 1916, Frank was the son of the late Fabian and Lena (Sprozek) Fachet and late siblings: George, Joe, Rose, and Anna Marie (Lehman). Frank was married to Grace (Anders) of Springtown for 40 years until her untimely death in 1982.

Frank spent his younger years working the Fachet family farm near Palisades High School. Until his retirement in 1981, he worked 39 years for Bethlehem Steel Corporation. Several times over the years Frank led rescue teams in search of lost hikers, hunters and an aircraft pilot who crashed on top of Haycock Mtn. His helping hand and great sense of humor will be sorely missed by family and friends.
