Beatrice L. (Siegfried) Gilbert, 99, of Allentown, formerly of New York City, New York, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Luther Crest Community. She was the wife of the late Joseph G. Gilbert to whom she was married 32 years.

Born in Northampton, June 20, 1911, Beatrice was the daughter of the late Albert and Sadie (Gross) Siegfried. Beatrice lived in New York City for most of her life and enjoyed 25 years as a Sales Associate and Designer for Tiffany & Co. at their New York 5th Avenue Headquarters Store. Upon retirement, she returned to the Lehigh Valley and enjoyed 25 years in her apartment home at Luther Crest. Beatrice was very active at Luther Crest with the bell chimers, in the gift shop and with the dining room food committee. An avid card player, she was always available for a round of Bridge or a game of Pinochle where she enjoyed the friendships of many fellow retirees and employees during her many years at Luther Crest. Beatrice was just amazing!

Survivors: She is survived by good friend, Lois Elma Eisenhard of Allentown; nephew-in-law, Robert R. Geist of Bethlehem; nephews, Edward Yaple and his wife, Helen of Whitehall, Lamar Smith and his wife, Bonnie of Gilberts; niece, Joanne Yaple of Kunkletown; Beatrice was also blessed with grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins who kept in touch with her over the years.

Services: Family and friends may pay their respects from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. A memorial service will take place at a later date at Luther Crest Community.
