Betty (Sammis) Ettel, age 98, of Hausman Road, Allentown PA, formerly of Brooklyn NY, died Sunday, November 2, 2003 at Luther Crest, South Whitehall Township PA. She was the Widow of the late William A. Ettel, former Assistant Commissioner of New York City Hospitals for several years.

Born in Belleville NJ, she was the daughter of the late Russell Bruce and Nell (Worthington) Sammis. She was an Executive Secretary for Cannon Mills in New York for 60 years, retiring in 1982. She was a Member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hellertown PA.

She is survived by her Daughter, Betty E., wife of Kjell F. Andersen of Lower Saucon Township PA; 4 Grandchildren, Susan, Ginger, Peter and Leslie; 7 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2003 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be Private and at the convenience of the Family.
