Norman W. Nelson, Jr., age 79, Shakespeare Road, Bethlehem PA, formerly of W. Depot St., Hellertown PA, died Thursday, November 18, 2004 in his home. He was the Husband of Geraldine H. (Searfoss) Nelson. The couple celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary earlier this month.

Born in Bethlehem PA, he was the son of the late Norman W. Sr. and Alma E. (Weierbach) Nelson. He was Manager of the Bowling Lanes and Assistant Manager of the former Bethlehem Steel Club from 1953 until retiring in 1980. He served his country faithfully during World War II in the United States Marine Corp and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a Member of First United Church of Christ, Bethlehem PA. He was also a Member of the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397, Hellertown PA. Norman was an avid bowler and had won several titles in the bowling league community and was a Charter member of the Bethlehem Bowling Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his Wife; Sons, Duane C. Nelson and his wife Donna R. of Bethlehem PA and Gerald N. Nelson and his wife Mary Ellen of Bethlehem PA; Daughter, Dawn L. Little of Bethlehem PA; and 1 Grandson, Frank B. Muzyka III of Bethlehem PA.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2004 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services in the Funeral Home. Interment in Union Cemetery of Hellertown.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in his name to the Church, 15 W. Fourth Street, Bethlehem PA 18015 and/or the Northampton County SPCA, 1165 Island Park Road, Easton PA 18042.
