Elmer R. Urmy, age 87, of Orlando FL, formerly of Bethlehem PA, died Saturday, October 2, 2004 at the Winter Park Care and Rehabilitation Center, Orlando FL. He was the Husband of Mabel (Gillespie) Urmy. The Couple celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary last month. Born in Coopersburg PA, he was the son of the late William S. and Agnes (Weider) Urmy. Elmer worked as a Fireman at the Bethlehem Steel Company for 45 years, retiring in 1972. He was a Member of the College Hill Moravian Church, Bethlehem PA. He was also a Member of the Saucon Lodge, F.& A.M., Coopersburg PA and Former Fire Chief of the Coopersburg Volunteer Fire Co. He is survived by his Wife; Son, Edward G. Urmy, with whom he resided and Brother-in-law, Steven A. Sakovics of Center Valley PA. He is predeceased in death by his Daughter, Marylouise U. Sakovics, 2000. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2004 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA. Family and Friends may call 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. F.& A.M. Service 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Interment at the Woodland Cemetery, Upper Saucon Township. In lieu of flowers, Memorials Contributions may be made in his name to the College Hill Moravian Church, 72 West Laurel Street Bethlehem PA 18017. |
