Charles M. 'Chief' Zimpfer, age 86, of Main Street, Hellertown PA, died Friday, January 14, 2005 at the VNA Hospice at St. Luke's, Fountain Hill PA. He was the Widower of the late Isabel A. (Boehm) Zimpfer.

Born in Hellertown PA, he was the son of the late Carl Ed and Laura Eva ( Hallowell) Zimpfer. Chief was a Maintenance Supervisor at the former Bethlehem Steel for 43 years, retiring in 1980. He was a Member of First United Church of Christ, Hellertown PA. He was Past President of the Dewey Fire Co., Hellertown PA; Former Member of the Hellertown F&AM Lodge #563; the Lehigh Consistory, Valley of Allentown PA; Bethlehem F&AM Lodge #283; Four County Firemen's Association; Saucon Valley Community Center, Hellertown PA; and the Hellertown Historical Society.

He is survived by his Son, Donald C. Zimpfer of Hellertown PA; Daughter, Diane I., wife of Jeremiah P. Donnelly of Hellertown PA; Sisters, Mildred M. Zimpfer of Nazareth PA, Gladys B., wife of Stephen Pagats in Florida, Ruth H. Calvo of Bethlehem PA and Shirley F., wife of Henry Mostek of Hellertown PA; 3 Grandchildren, Stacy Sanders, Scott Donnelly, Colleen Dengel and 5 Great Grandchildren, Courtney Sanders, Zachary Sanders, Carly Sanders, Robby Dengel and Cori Dengel.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown. Family and Friends may call 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
