Sandra S. (Goides) Young, age 66, of Allentown PA, died Thursday, December 14, 2006 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown PA. She is the wife of Byron A. Young. The couple celebrated their 43rd Wedding Anniversary last July 20th.

Born in Nesquehoning PA (October 15, 1940), she is the daughter of the late Metro and Anna (Skapura) Goides. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for Parkland Bindery, Allentown PA for 13 years. Prior to that she was a Secretary for the former Ace Hotel & Bar Supply, Allentown PA, for many years.

She was a Member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, Nesquehoning PA and attended Greenwalds United Church of Christ, Allentown PA. She was a 1958 graduate of Nesquehoning High School and a Member of the Mary Livingston Chapter #167 Order of the Eastern Star, Allentown PA. Sandra loved to play bingo, bowl, collect snowmen and make crafts. She had a love of nature as reflected in her beautiful flower gardens.

In addition to her loving Husband, she is survived by her Son, Theodore D. and his wife Sandra L. of Slatington PA; Daughters, Cheryl A., wife of Michael P. Schaffer of Slatington PA and Jennifer S., wife of Jonathan P. Howell of Chesapeake VA; Brother, Ronald Goides and his wife Kathy of Nesquehoning PA; Sister, Marlene, wife of William Serra of Ocala FL; Aunt Marge Kokinda of Nesquehoning PA; Grandchildren Michael, Richard and Ellysa Schaffer, Zachary and Stephanie Ziegler and Theodore and Conrad Young; Nieces and Nephews; and Grand Dog, Bailey.

The Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2006, in the Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5500 Route 873, Schnecksville PA, with the Reverend Dennis W. Moore officiating. Family and Friends may call 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., with Eastern Star Service, Monday, December 18th, in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville PA, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday in Church. Interment to follow the funeral service at Grandview Cemetery, Allentown PA.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice and/or Northern Lehigh Youth Athletic Association c/o the Funeral Home, PO Box 196, Schnecksville PA 18078-0196.
