Michael Yamnicky, age 82, of Second Avenue, Hellertown PA, died Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at the St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill PA. He was the Widower of the late Julia (Zavodny)Yamincky.

Born in Hellertown PA, he was the Son of the late Joseph and Julia (Schutz) Yamnicky. He was the Business Manager for the Saucon Valley School District for 23 years, retiring in 1983. He was a 1937 Graduate of Saucon Valley and 1952 Graduate of Moravian College with a BS in Economics and Business Administration. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II as a Third Class Petty Officer on the USS Quincy. He was a Member of Christ Lutheran Church of Hellertown PA.

He was also a Member of Dewey Fire Company, Hellertown PA; Edward H. Ackerman Post 397, Hellertown PA; the Quakertown Moose, Quakertown PA; PA Association of School Business Officials; PA School Education Association; and the Retired Teachers Association. He was a Trustee for the Northampton County Area Community College, Bethlehem from 1972-1990 and the Saucon Valley School Board from 1983-1987 and 1989-1993.

He is survived by his Daughter, Lisa B., wife of Jonathan J. Rupert of Hellertown PA and Sister, Julia R. Pagats of Hellertown PA.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2002 in the Christ Lutheran Church, 69 Main Street, Hellertown PA 18055. Family and Friends may call 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Church. The Reverend Philip C. Spohn officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown.
