Rosario A. Velas, age 70, of Second Avenue, Hellertown PA, died February 11, 2004 in her home. She was the Widow of the late George J. Velas, 1994.

She was born in Lyon, France. She was a Homemaker. Mrs. Velas was a Member of the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397 Ladies Auxiliary, Hellertown PA, and the Hellertown Democratic Club.

She is survived by her Son, George P. Velas Sr. with whom he resided; Daughter, Mary J. Sahlberg of Bethlehem PA; Sister, Maria Briones in Spain; and 7 Grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2004 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA. Family and Friends may call 12:30 - 1:00 p.m. Monday in the Funeral Home.

I was a young girl maybe 10 years old when I first met you. You came here from Spain with long coal black hair. You couldn't speak English, I couldn't speak Spanish. I remember brushing your hair. You loved having it brushed. I always had a special place in my heart for you Rosie. I hope you know that. And I have your son Georgie in my prayers. I know he had the same operation my husband had. He's such a sweetheart. I met him at the Giant with his wife and children right before his surgery. I love you. Marie
