William H. Vogel, age 80, of Butternut Road, Coopersburg PA, died Friday, February 4, 2005 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township PA. He was the Husband of Ruth M. (Mease) Vogel. The couple celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary this past June.

Born in Fountain Hill PA, he was the son of the late August T. and Mary Ann (Green) Vogel. William worked as a Machine Operator for the former W.R. Grace & Company, Quakertown PA, for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He served his country faithfully during World War II in the 17th Airborne in United States Army where he was a POW. He was a Member of St. James Lutheran Church, Coopersburg PA. He was also a Life Member of the VFW 3405, Coopersburg and was also very proud to be an Eagle Scout.

He is survived by his Wife; Sons, Dale R. and his wife Phyllis J. Vogel of Seidersville PA and Bruce A. and his wife Donna M. Vogel of Emmaus PA; Daughter, Brenda L. Bortz of Whitehall PA; Brother, Edward and his wife Barbara Vogel of Tampa FL; Sisters, Ruth Coffin of Lakeland FL and May Falco of Bethlehem PA; and 3 Grandchildren, Jennifer, Amber and Eric. He is predeceased in death by his Brothers, John A. Vogel and Charles Vogel.

Services will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA followed by the interment at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services in the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Charity of One's Choice.
