Carl W. Oswald, age 83, of Allentown PA, formerly of Cetronia PA, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in Lehigh Center, Lower Macungie Township PA. He was the husband of Lucille R. (Hummel) Oswald. The couple celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary last December 11.

Born in Cetronia PA, August 13, 1923, Carl was the son of the late Raymond O. and Mae Marie (Romig) Oswald. He graduated from the former South Whitehall High School. Carl faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was employed at PPL in Allentown, as a Supervisor in the construction department for 40 years, retiring in 1981. He was a Member of Cedar United Church of Christ, (Cetronia), Allentown, where he formerly served on the Consistory. Carl was a Member of Greenleaf Lodge No. 561, F. & A.M.; the Allen-Beauceant Commandery No. 20, Knights, Templar; the Jordan Royal Arch Chapter No. 203; the Allen Council No. 23 R. & S.M.M., all of Allentown; the Rajah Shrine, Reading; and he was a former Captain and Volunteer for the Cetronia Fire Co. #1.

He is survived by his Wife; Sons, Kenneth C. Oswald of Cincinnati OH and Alan R. Oswald and his wife Emy of Timonium MD; and 4 grandchildren, Judson, Bradley, Michelle and Jennifer. He is predeceased in death by his Brother, Bruce D. Oswald.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 am. Saturday, January 27, 2007 in Cedar Church, 3419 Broadway, (Cetronia), Allentown with the Reverend Lee Schleicher, officiating. Family and Friends are invited to call 10:00 - 10:30 am Saturday in the Church. Interment will follow the service in the Parish Cemetery. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville PA is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cedar U.C.C. Endowment Fund c/o the Funeral Home, PO Box 196, Schnecksville PA 18078-0196.
