Veronica (Stummer) Opitz, age 92, formerly of Hellertown and Leithsville PA, died Sunday, December 31, 2006 at ManorCare Health Services, Palmer Township PA. She is the wife of the late Joseph F. Opitz.

Born in Bethlehem PA (July 27, 1914), she is the daughter of the late John and Rose (Kalmar) Stummer. Veronica is a Member of St. John Capistrano Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

She is survived by her Son, Joseph L. of Hellertown PA; Daughter, Rosemary, wife of Paul S. Hersh, Jr. of Hellertown PA; Sister, Margaret Tarola of Bethlehem PA; 5 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. She is predeceased by her Sisters, Rose Hoffner, Elizabeth Huffsmith and Catherine Molnar.

Family and Friends may call 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2007 and 8:30 - 9 a.m. Thursday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown PA. The Service will be at 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass at the Church. Interment to follow services at the Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
