MaryAnn (Mease) Opitz, age 60, of Silver Creek Road, Hellertown PA, died Monday, February 27, 2006 at her home. She is the wife of Joseph L. Opitz. Born in Fountain Hill PA, she is the daughter of the late Roscoe H. and Mary A. (Zsilavecz) Mease. MaryAnn was a Saucon Valley Elementary School Room Mother and Grandmother for 35 years, and enjoyed making crafts with the children and decorating the lobby for various holidays. She worked at Saylor Meats, Springtown PA, for many years. Prior to that she worked at the ATSA Bagel Shop in Allentown PA, the Fabric Center, Bethlehem PA, the Bethlehem Steel Co., and Air Products & Chemicals, Trexlertown PA. MaryAnn was a Member of Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, Hellertown. She was also a Member of the Minsi Trail Flower Club, Springtown PA; the Upper Bucks Street Rod Association; the Endless Summer Rod & Custom Club; the National Street Rod Association; and the National Street Rod Safety Inspection Team. MaryAnn was the proud recipient of the Mid-Atlantic Street Rod Association PA Lady Rodder of the Year Award. She loved getting involved in Street Rod National and Local events and could be seen driving and smoking the tires at those events. She was an avid gardener, camper, and loved hunting, fishing and boating. In addition to her loving Husband of 40 years, she is survived by her Daughters, Suzanne M., wife of David S. Coyle of Hellertown PA, Deborah A., wife of Kevin L. Haas of Bethlehem PA and Christine J., wife of Stephen J. Svanda of Bethlehem PA; and 3 Grandchildren, Heather R. Logan, Jacob D. Coyle and Aidan C. Svanda. She is predeceased in death by her Brother, Robert Mease. Family and Friends are invited to a visitation period from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street, Hellertown.
