Daniel R. Thomas, age 46, of Coplay PA, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown PA. He was the husband of Christine F. (Gergar) Thomas. The couple celebrated their 29th Wedding Anniversary last April.

Born in Stroudsburg PA, Daniel was the son of LaRue (Gaston) and Richard Gates of Whitehall PA. He was employed as a Construction Worker for various construction companies in the Lehigh Valley, last working at Muhlenberg College. He was of the Lutheran Faith. Dan was an avid outdoorsman and loved nature. He was also a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He is survived by his Wife; Parents; Sons, Damon D. Thomas and his wife Holly of Northampton PA and Eric J. Thomas and his wife Jannal of Whitehall PA; Daughter, Candace A. Thomas and her fiancé Daniel D. Strain of Bethlehem PA; Maternal Grandmother, Ruth Gaston of Walnutport PA; Brothers, Budd J. Thomas, Jr. and William A. Gates, both of Whitehall PA; and Grandchildren, Aleea M. Thomas, Timothy D. Thomas, Brandon R. Thomas, Alexa D. Thomas, Jacob A. Thomas and Luke E. Thomas.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2006 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville PA with the Reverend Allen L. Kline officiating. Family and Friends may Call 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Slatedale Cemetery.
