Eugene A. Laub, age 83, of North Whitehall Township PA, died Thursday, January 27, 2005 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township PA. He was the husband of Esther M. (Hein) Laub. The couple celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary last June.

Born in Egypt, Eugene was the son of the late Clarence E. and Flossie (Troxell) Laub. He was employed as a Truck Driver for the former Trojan Powder Company in South Whitehall Township for 45 years before retiring. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II, receiving the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars. He was wounded in action during the invasion of Normandy and also received the Purple Heart Medal. He was a Member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall.

He is survived by his Wife; Son, Alfred E. Laub of Silver Lake KS; Daughter, Linda M. Schadler of Laurys Station PA; Brothers, Clarence Laub of Allentown PA, Louis Laub of Whitehall PA and John Laub of North Whitehall Township PA; Sisters, Caroline Schrader and Rachael Minner of Allentown PA, Letitia Ball of Whitehall PA, Sarah Guth of Florida PA and Elaine Maida of New Jersey; Grandchildren, Vickie Lynne Schadler, Alan E. Laub, Jason M. Laub, Joel W. Laub; and Pet Cat Dandee. He is predeceased by Sisters, Emily Guth, Natalie Ebert and Brother, Nathan Laub.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 01, 2005 in Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, Whitehall PA. Family and Friends may Call 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Church. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., Schnecksville PA.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund c/o the Funeral Home, PO Box 196, Schnecksville PA 18078-0196.
