Theodore E. 'Ted' Dean, age 73, of Coplay PA, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003 in his home. He was the Husband of Marie (Czaczara) Dean. The couple celebrated their 47th Wedding Anniversary last May.

Born in New Castle PA, he was the son of the late Theodore R. and Josephine (Noggle) Dean. He was Technical Service Manager for Tarkett Corp., formerly located in Whitehall, for 40 years, retiring in 1989. Mr. Dean was named Tarkett Presidents Club Employee of the Year in 1986. He also was Committee Chairperson for ASTM (American Standards for Testing Materials) in Floor Coverings.

He was a Member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main Street, Whitehall PA, where he served on the Church Building Committee. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. He was also a Member of the Community Fire Company #1, Schnecksville PA; the NOVA Auxiliary, Coplay PA; and the Lehigh County and Upper Lehigh Historical Societies.

He is survived by his Wife; Sons, Theodore E. Dean, Jr. of North Whitehall Township PA and Thomas J. Dean of Boulder CO; and 3 Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 03, 2003 in the Church. Family and Friends may call 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Friday in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville PA and 9:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Church. The Reverend James W. Schlegel officiating. Interment in Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall PA.
